Coach Thomas is from Angier, NC. She started ballet and gymnastics at the age of 3 and continued until she was 5. She was also a girl scout. At 8 years old Coach Thomas started her cheerleading career with the Town of Angier Cheerleading Team. GoBulldogs!  Coach Thomas cheered with the Town of Angier until she was 12 years old where she made the cheerleading team her 8th grade year at Harnett Central Middle School.

 

Flashback to 7th grade where Coach Thomas tried out for cheerleading and did not make the team, although devastated she continued to cheer rec and did not give up cheerleading. Luckily she did not give up cheerleading and went on to make the Varsity Cheerleading team at Harnett Central High School. GoTrojans! She cheered all 4 years Varsity at HCHS. Assisting in choreography and routines for both her team and JV.

Coach Thomas went on to try out for Fayetteville State University, where she also made the team. GoBroncos! But after a busy summer and the start of Fall classes, she wanted focus on school and soon start her career as a Cheerleading Coach.

​

In 2012, Coach Thomas began her career as a Coach for the Town of Fuquay Athletics. GoBengals! and went on to Coach until 2015. In 2015, she became the JV Coach for Apex Friendship High School. GoPatriots! This was an awesome experience coaching at a new High School with so much talent.

​

From 2016-2018, Coach Thomas was the Head Coach at Lufkin Road Middle School. GoLightning! Also, coaching at Infinited Cheer and Tumble in Apex , and after a completed season, she coached Stunt at Apex High School. GoCougars! and during the 2018-2019 season she had the pleasure of Head Coaching the Varsity Cheer Team at Fuquay-Varina High School GoBengals.. Coach Thomas has returned to Head Coach the Lufkin Lightning Cheerleaders for the 2019-20 Season.

During her cheerleading career she has been a 4 time All Amereican All Star recipient at Spirit Xpress and Edge camps at UNC Chapel Hill and NC State. 1st place as a coach for the Town of Rec Cheerleading for Best Routine, 2 1st place trophies at Apex Friendship, multiple trophies 1st and 2nd places at Infinite Cheer and Tumble with multiple teams, 2017-2018 2nd Place Trophy at Lufkin Road MS and hoping to bring more wins!

Cheerleading is her passion, she coaches every year no matter what because she can't say no to the poms, stunts, and tumbling and more!
